We started because we couldn’t find honest oil

In 2023, three of us were buying mustard oil for our own kitchens and getting something thin, pale and odourless — refined, blended, nothing like what came out of the village press. We went to Okara, found a grower, and bought a barrel. This shop grew out of that barrel.

How we buy

Directly, and in small quantities. We pay growers in Okara, Chitral, Hunza and Khairpur for what they actually grew rather than bidding down a commodity. It means we run out of things — the walnut oil is a single autumn pressing and when it is gone it is gone until next year.

How we press

At room temperature, in a wooden-barrel kohlu, in batches small enough to bottle the same week. Nothing is heated, no hexane touches it, and it is not passed through bleaching earth. The result is cloudy, sharp and settles a little sediment. That is the oil, not a fault in it.

What we will not do

We do not blend, we do not relabel someone else’s drum, and we do not print a health claim we cannot stand behind. If a batch is not right it does not ship.

Come and see

Our Lahore office is open Monday to Saturday. If you want to watch a pressing, tell us a week ahead and we’ll arrange it.
